Cantina dei vini
She was the first Sommelière in Ticino and has significantly helped to develop the wine scene in the southern canton and to bring it to today’s high level. Her passion is not only for cuisine, but also for wine. In the cellar of Agnese there are wonderful wines, rare vintages and trouvaillas, which are only available in the Stazione in Intragna.
The focus in Agnese´s Weinkeller is on Ticino, where excellent Merlots and assemblages are now produced by talented winemakers. As Agnese always says:
„Life is too short
to drink bad wine.“
Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot blanc
The three grape varieties are matured individually and only joined together at the bottling stage. Intense aroma of fruits and white flowers. On the palate the wine is dry and very fresh.
Excellent with pike-perch, trout fillet and avocado with crayfish.
Merlot, white pressed
Matured in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Fine and elegant scent of pears, chamomile and lime blossom. Fresh, soft taste with a long finish. Excellent wine for aperitifs and risotto.
Excellent with: herb salad, aperitif and shrimp cocktail.
Intense yellow with gold reflections. Very fruity fragrance. Taste dry with dominant fruit. Can be combined well with light antipasti and grilled vegetables.
Excellent with: asparagus risotto, parmesan flans, burrata, tomato soup Lago Maggiore and asparagus soup.
Persistently fruity with scents of ribs and raspberries. Dry and warm on the palate, balanced in acidity and tannins. Intense, harmonious. Elegant bouquet.
Excellent with: veal dumplings, pumpkin soup and minestrone.
Very nice matured in barrique. Pleasant fruit-acid balance gives the wine a very pleasant long finish with dark colour and light blackberry and blueberry taste.
Fits perfectly: Ticino plate and Rösti.
In the nose very intense, persistent and complex with noble wood scents. Dry on the palate with balanced tannins. Warm, round, intense and persistent. Harmonious and elegant wine.
Excellent with: beef carpaccio and cordon bleu.
Bordeaux style. 36 months in new barrique barrels. Complex, intense nose. On the palate, persistent and intense notes of vanilla, tar, black pepper, cinnamon. A great wine with a lot of power.
It goes well with saddle of venison and braised beef.
Intense ruby red colour. Complex nose with notes of red fruits. On the palate dry and balanced. Round body. Harmonious wine with great elegance and pleasant tannins.
It goes well with cordon bleu, veal liver and potato soup.
Riserva Marcello Ticino
Bordeaux style. 36 months in new barrique barrels. Ruby red colour with violet reflections. Very fine nose. Complex and warm, beautiful structure in the finish. Harmonious and with a long, spicy note.
Excellent with saffron risotto and braised beef.
Rich, intense and persistent, with notes of ripe black berries and roasted aromas of liquorice, black chocolate and coffee. Very complex. Soft, powerful and full-bodied.
Excellent with: veal steak and tagliolini with truffle foam.
Intense, persistent scent of plums, blackberries and Amarena cherries, followed by elegant balsamic notes of liquorice. Full, soft and very complex.
It goes well with game, braised beef and veal chops.
Collezione Oro Ticino
Bordeaux style with long maceration. 60 months in new barriques. Rich and full with beautiful structure, yet very fine and elegant. Complex, long-lasting, aromatic finish.
Excellent with: mashed potatoes with truffle foam and veal cutlet.
Sémillon da meditazione
Matured for two years in barriques, this sweet wine is best drunk at a temperature between 9 and 11 degrees. Only available in small quantities. A truly sweet temptation from Malcantone.
It goes well with Panna Cotta, chocolate cake and cheese.
White Americano grapes
Wine made from white Americano grapes. Made as ice wine. Notes of Fox tone (foxy taste), goose feet and cat’s seicherli. 14.5% alcohol, of course residual sweetness. In Ticino the wine is cultivated with the American direct carrier variety Isabella.
Excellent with: brioche with terrine, aperitif, chestnut cake, chocolate tartlets and cheese.
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Müller Thurgau
Complex and very intense bouquet. A fruit basket with quince, apricot, citrus. Very complex and full-bodied on the palate. Delicious “sweet-acid” game. Balanced finish, fresh and pleasant.
Perfect with: pineapple carpaccio and cheese.
